Write a DRABBLE. This is a 100-700 word short story. We all enjoyed David Brin’s drabble at the last meeting, and it was his ‘ideal length’ of 250 words. So that’s our goal! Get that drabble down as small as possible by next meeting. The first line is:

“It should fit”, she said.

Following are some quotes that might help inspire brevity:

“I'm sorry. If I’d more time, I would have written a shorter letter.” [Mark Twain]

“A period is to let the writer know he has finished his thought, and he should stop there if he will only take the hint.” [Art Linkletter]

“If you can’t write your idea on the back of my calling card, you don’t have a clear idea.” [David Belasco]
